Abstract
Cette étude de Babel, prise deux propose un regard sur le mythe de babel et sur la figure d'utopie à partir des concepts de territorialité et de frontière, lieu utopique par excellence dans le roman. Lieu de rupture, de coupure ou de rencontre; lieu de séduction et de désirs aussi. L'héroïne construit et s'approprie le territoire privé et collectif (de la langue à la cité en passant par l'information et l'ethnicité) et l'investit d'une vision «anti-utopique » qui renverse les fictions d'incomplétude, d'inaptitude et d'uniformité que symbolise la tour inachevée ou démolie. En fait, cette lecture du roman suggère précisément que le texte cherche à inscrire la différence, ce qu'il réussit en partie, mais ce, à l'intérieur d'un discours intimiste et donc partiellement bloqué.
