Abstract
Résumé Cet article traite du signalement de l'enfance en difficulté dans les écoles minoritaires de langue française en Ontario (Canada). À partir de données provenant du projet de recherche ?Trajectoires sociales et scolaires d?élèves en difficulté à l'école primaire de langue française en Ontario? (mené entre 2000 et 2003), il s?agit, en particulier, de comprendre le fonctionnement des comités d?identification, de placement et de révision (CIPR) qui réunissent des membres du personnel de l'école et des parents. Une méthodologie exploitant des données d?observation et des entretiens permet de mettre en évidence les débats, les discussions et les négociations entourant le signalement des élèves considérés comme étant en difficulté. Cette méthodologie privilégie une compréhension de l'activité humaine qui tient compte de la complexité des interactions sociales. Le cas d?un signalement d?un élève est présenté sous forme de mise en scène.
