De la pratique à l'enseignement d'un métier en formation professionnelle au Québec : un passage volontaire

Abstract
Résumé Au Québec, peu d’enseignants de la formation professionnelle au secondaire avaient déjà envisagé faire carrière en enseignement. Ce n’est généralement qu’après plusieurs années d’exercice d’un métier qu’une occasion d’enseigner peut se présenter. Ces personnes se voient alors « plongées » dans un important mouvement de transition entre leur métier et l’enseignement. Cet article vise à décrire ce qui caractérise le passage de la pratique à l’enseignement d’un métier en formation professionnelle au secondaire au Québec. L’analyse thématique de 32 entretiens montre que la transition entre la pratique du métier et l’enseignement est un passage volontaire, dans toutes les acceptions du mot, c’est-à-dire qu’ils ont agi de manière volontaire, mais ont également fait preuve de volonté dans cette nouvelle aventure.
