Abstract
Grande association de solidarité française créée par l’abbé Pierre en 1949, Emmaüs est rapidement devenu un mouvement international. Dans ce numéro consacré aux frontières et aux changements d’échelle des mouvements sociaux, il s’agit d’observer les circulations et les transformations du politique qui s’opèrent depuis les années 1950 entre un espace national et l’espace international, pour conduire les croyants vers les réflexions et l’action politique et, finalement, l’émancipation du religieux. À la porosité géographique et idéologique des frontières du « mouvement social » s’ajoute une porosité générationnelle : de la génération des « vieux » mouvements, Emmaüs chemine aujourd’hui aux côtés des « nouveaux ».
