Abstract
Résumé Roman québécois écrit par une féministe radicale, Le Désert mauve de Nicole Brossard se donne à lire comme un texte d'un genre inclassable, oscillant entre la fiction et la théorie. À travers ses expressions divergentes et les voix féminines qui le traversent, il présente une série de réflexions sur des femmes confrontées à une "réalité" angoissante qu'elles tâchent de surmonter. En indiquant ses procédés de construction fictionnelle, le roman développe aussi la problématique de la traduction, figure désignant en partie le processus même de l'écriture artistique. Une lecture apr profondie de ces aspects révèle que l'imagination créatrice, par les manipulations sémantiques qu 'elle opère, offre aux femmes un moyen possible de transformer la " réalité ".
