Abstract
This article discusses the care of a patient following coronary artery bypass grafting surgery. The patient developed a cardiac tamponade during the immediate postoperative phase. The patient was a 70-year-old gentleman who did not have any previous medical conditions and who was diagnosed with angina. He was admitted to the overnight intensive recovery unit following surgery. The care and management of this patient is discussed together with the clinical manifestations and treatment of cardiac tamponade.
