Abstract

The purpose of this study was to establish if in the diseased internal organs of the Greenland halibut - mainly liver and kidney - it is possible to find &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus&lt;/i&gt; fungi and of the presence of these fungi corresponds with the pathologic changes in these organs. The incidence of &lt;i&gt;Cryptococcus&lt;/i&gt; fung in the aquens of Labrador and New Founland in see fishes may be an index of these organismes in the sea water. Psychrophilie &lt;i&gt;Cryptococci&lt;/i&gt; were found in the kidneys and livers of Greenland halibut caught in these regions. The presence may be correlated with the pathological changes found in these organs.
