Abstract

Fondée en 1984, la collection «Papiers collés», des Éditions du Boréal, constitue aujourd'hui la principale collection québécoise consacrée à l'essai littéraire. L'analyse globale des quatorze titres parus au cours des années quatre-vingt fait apercevoir que leur point de départ typique est la mise en place d'un paradoxe, par un je affiché, à partir d'une circonstance. L'objet par excellence du discours est le Québec. Quant au point d'arrivée de ce discours, il s'agit non pas d'une résolution du paradoxe, mais de son exacerbation : se dessine en effet, dans chacun des essais de la collection, un refus de conclure lié à l'affirmation de la valeur de la contradiction.
