Physical molecular models are useful research and educational tools to demonstrate the bonding between atoms and to highlight the three-dimensional nature of chemical structures. Inexpensive three-dimensional physical models of arbitrary fullerenes can be accurately constructed through mathematical beading with the so-called right-angle weave stitch.
