Discours épilinguistique et discours topologique : une approche des rapports entre signalétique et confinement linguistique en sociolinguistique urbaine

Abstract
Cet article rend compte d’une recherche engagée depuis plus d’un an en collaboration avec d’autres disciplines sur la mise en mots de l’habitat populaire au travers d’une enquête de terrain effectuée dans la ville de Rennes (France). Dans une zone réputée gallèse, certaines des rues de cette ville de Bretagne ont une signalétique bilingue (français / breton celtique). Nous analyserons les discours sur les corrélations entre mémoire urbaine (le discours sur l’entité urbaine) et sociolinguistique (le discours sur à la fois la stratification sociolinguistique et à la fois la territorialisation, voire la mobilité linguistique) autour de trois axes de questionnement : 1. la signalétique bi ou plurilingue et la discrimination des espaces, 2. l’affichage de langues (notamment via les odonymes) et les traces d’une mémoire sociolinguistique et 3. l’aménagement linguistique des espaces urbains (imposition, ou reproduction ou validation ou dénégation d’une mémoire sociolinguistique et urbaine) et le dirigisme glottopolitique.
