Abstract
Résumé La question de la confiance dans Internet constitue un obstacle considérable à la croissance du commerce électronique. Cet article examine la contribution de la confiance à l’obtention d’un avantage concurrentiel dans les transactions électroniques effectuées dans Internet. Ainsi, la forme semi-forte de confiance est la forme ayant le plus de chances de fournir un avantage concurrentiel dans ce type de transactions lorsque existe la confiance dans l’autre partie à l’échange et dans les mécanismes de contrôle. L’article définit d’abord le commerce électronique, puis la confiance, ses composantes et ses différents types. Il décrit ensuite la théorie des coûts de transaction en rapport avec le commerce dans Internet, de même que les concepts apparentés de vulnérabilité et d’opportunisme. Par la suite, l’article analyse les différentes composantes de la confiance dans le contexte du commerce électronique grand public. Il se termine par une discussion sur les implications de la confiance pour les praticiens du commerce dans Internet.
