Abstract
En laissant de côté toute idée de décor ou d’espace minimum nécessaire (pour que l’action ait lieu), comment entreprendre une analyse scénographique de La Mort de Molière ? Partant du constat que la nature des images mais plus encore leur succession et leur répétition semblent contenir un sens que ni le texte ni l’événement historique auquel il est fait ici référence ne peuvent révéler, la présente étude s’emploie à résoudre cette énigme, en réalisant un découpage graphique plan par plan. À la lumière de ces croquis, qui semblent écrire un véritable glossaire de la scénographie contemporaine, apparaissent des espaces multiples et imbriqués, dont l’agencement, dans le lieu technique et unique du studio de tournage, offre une autre lecture de l’oeuvre, une réflexion sur l’éphémère et la pérennité de l’art vivant du théâtre, figé par la mémoire, la nostalgie, … et la caméra.
