Ce travail resume quelques techniques utilisees pour la synthese de membranes metalliques composites. L'accent est mis sur les membranes composites de Pd et d'alliages de Pd. La premiere partie de cette contribution traite de travaux fait sur l'assemblage de feuilles metalliques et de supports poreux. Les avancees techniques pour la preparation de membranes composites de Pd et de ses alliages par la methode dite electroless sont abordees en deuxieme partie. Le choix de la methode de deposition de metal (Pd), du support poreux, des barrieres isolantes et des techniques servant a modifier la surface du support poreux sont discutees. Finalement, le developpement de defauts a l'origine de fuites et de pertes de selectivites dans les membranes composite de Pd et de ses alliages preparees par la methode electroless est discute.
