Les efforts stratégiques et tactiques de commercialisation des organisations font ressurgir la nécessité de revoir les tâches et les appellations de leurs professionnels de mise en marché. Ainsi, ces dernières années, des indicateurs pointent vers une nouvelle catégorie de professionnels en marketing, qu’on désigne par l’appellation « développement des affaires ». À la fois conceptuel et pragmatique, cet article permet de faire un tour d’horizon du rôle du développement des affaires en entreprise et des emplois en ce domaine. Un échantillon d’offres d’emploi parues en français au Québec a été analysé à l’aide du modèle inédit des quatre A, et les résultats sont donc présentés en termes d’atouts, d’attentes, d’attraits et d’aspirations des candidats. Cet article offre aux employeurs, professeurs, formateurs professionnels, chasseurs de talents, diplômés en administration des affaires, ou encore à toute personne en pratique des affaires, l’occasion de faire le point sur ce sujet.
