Abstract
The cover picture shows weakly interacting anions and cations in ionic plastic crystals that are free to rotate in a spherical symmetry and give rise to multiple subphases, as seen by AFM. Here, the compact shape of the cation, which is favourable for the tumbling motion, has been designed by fusing a second carbocycle to a pyrazole ring.
