Abstract
Résumé Le nouvel environnement d’affaires, caractérisé par la mondialisation des marchés et l’économie du savoir, a été bouleversé par le développement effréné des technologies de l’information et des communications, et en particulier des technologies de l’inforoute. Ces technologies constituent l’infrastructure d’un réseau mondial de liens électroniques entre partenaires d’affaires. Les possibilités qui en résultent de faire des affaires électroniques entraînent des enjeux reliés à la stratégie, à l’avantage concurrentiel et à la performance de l’organisation. Ainsi, un nouveau phénomène émerge, soit les places d’affaires électroniques. Cet article examine l’évolution du commerce électronique, qui a débouché sur l’établissement de places d’affaires électroniques. Puis il décrit les types de places d’affaires, leurs rôles et leurs fonctions. Par la suite, il précise les enjeux stratégiques qu’elles comportent, par exemple quant au choix pour une entreprise de créer son propre site Web transactionnel ou de participer à une place d’affaires électroniques déjà établie.
