Abstract
Résumé En France, il existe peu de travaux dont l’objet central est de penser les usages sociaux de l’actualité . Cette situation tranche assez nettement avec la sociologie des médias anglo-saxonne, qui conduit de régulières recherches sur la rencontre entre les consommations médiatiques et les activités civiques. Dans le cadre de cet article, nous souhaiterions apporter quelque éclairage sur une partie de cette littérature, qui s’est intéressée aux usages sociaux de l’actualité. Nous avons fait le choix de présenter les études parmi les plus discutées, qui servent aujourd’hui encore de contrepoint, sinon de cadre problématique, à de nombreux travaux dont l’objet est d’analyser les usages sociaux des contenus d’actualité à l’ère d’Internet.
