Abstract
L’étude qui suit ne porte pas sur le Canada français. Mais en décrivant une phase capitale de 1'évolution des idéologies économiques américaines, elle reconstitue le contexte où est née notre propre infrastructure économique; elle indique aussi certains courants culturels que notre culture a intégrés ou refusés, mais qui ont incontestablement joué sur notre destin. Cet article réunit ainsi des éléments importants pour les études comparatives qui s'imposent à propos de notre milieu. Nous publierons prochainement un deuxième article du même auteur qui traitera des aspects juridiques de la même idéologie.
