Abstract
Cet article explore l’impact d’une lecture prédictive des risques sur l’exercice de certaines pratiques en milieu carcéral canadien, à partir à la fois du sens qu’en donnent les psychologues en établissement et d’un examen des lois et politiques en vigueur. Il apparaît que les exigences liées à l’acquisition de compétences en gestion et en évaluation du risque ressortent de préoccupations essentiellement managériales du système correctionnel. La recherche de la performance, de la transparence et de la satisfaction des clients façonne les interventions. Élevés au rang d’injonctions, ces impératifs participent au renforcement d’un ordre régulateur en les murs qui s’apparente à une gouvernance à distance destinée d’une part à gérer une figure de risque, le détenu, dont il est attendu qu’il « participe activement » à sa peine, et d’autre part à faire se conformer les intervenants à des logiques de prise en charge standardisées et mesurables, dont ils sont appelés à rendre compte.
