The Discobolus (“discus thrower”) of Myron illustrates a new class of inorganic materials with disklike or repeating cyclic structures that contain exclusively end-on azido bridges without an organic chelate, and exhibit ferromagnetic, single-molecule-magnet or long-range magnetic ordering properties.
