Psychodoxie du personnage dans L'Astrée« L'Astrée est une date importante, la plus importante peut-être de toute la littérature sentimentale en France ».Émile Faguet 1 .Les personnages de L'Astrée ont souvent fait l'objet d'analyses « psychologiques » 2 .Pourtant, leur comportement n'est pas fondé sur une quelconque science de l'âme, dont un Marsile Ficin jetait déjà les fondements en analysant, par exemple, le phénomène d'idéalisation de l'être aimé en des termes qui annoncent la thèse de la « première cristallisation » de Stendhal 3 .C'est ailleurs qu'il faut chercher les fondements du statut des personnages, sans doute dans leur statut qui se problématise.En effet, L'Astrée marque le moment où le personnage se constitue en espace dans lequel conventions littéraires et conceptions ontologiques d'horizons différents convergent avant de se résorber en psychodoxie, en prescriptions éthiques.
