Abstract
La politique de la Syrie envers la Russie se déploie dans trois principaux domaines : stratégico-militaire, symbolique et économique. Ces trois domaines permettent de considérer l’adaptation de la politique de puissance de Damas au regard de ses faiblesses croissantes et du besoin de conserver son rôle comme puissance arabe régionale. Cette politique s’appuie sur une réalité objective externe comportant des enjeux et des menaces générés par le conflit militaire, social et normatif sur le plan régional ainsi que par des facteurs identitaires. Ce constat confirme la compatibilité entre les postulats réalistes et constructivistes : sans modèle préétabli, la convergence des deux volontés de puissance, syrienne et russe, se bâtit dans leur interaction par des ajustements successifs.
