Abstract
Résumé Une vision à long terme des structures démographiques du Québec dévoile le fait que notre société bénéficie actuellement d’une situation exceptionnellement favorable en ce qui a trait à ses niveaux de dépendance démographique. En effet, les personnes âgées de 20 à 64 ans n’ont jamais été aussi nombreuses par rapport aux personnes dites dépendantes, soit les enfants, les adolescents et les personnes âgées. Cette réalité n’en est pas moins un mirage pour l’avenir de la dynamique démographique au Québec. Nous nous dirigeons vers un vieillissement de la main-d’œuvre et vers une forte croissance de la population de retraités. Face au déficit de main-d’œuvre appréhendé, il faut mettre en place dès maintenant des mécanismes de planification des ressources humaines, lesquels permettront de gérer la main-d’œuvre québécoise de demain de façon décente et surtout équitable pour les générations à venir.
