Abstract
Au tournant des années 1970, le rôle des associations étudiantes au Québec s'est transformé. Se retirant progressivement des débats sociaux et politiques et ne s'inscrivant plus à l'intérieur d'un mouvement social émancipateur, l'action des associations étudiantes s'est concentrée autour de revendications pragmatiques liées à l'aménagement de la vie étudiante à l'intérieur de chaque établissement d'enseignement. L'étude de l'association étudiante du premier cycle de l'Université Laval montre que cette dernière est aux prises avec plusieurs ambiguïtés, la principale étant de rechercher l'autonomie tout en demandant l'intervention de l'administration universitaire.
