Abstract
A l’aide de trois indicateurs - les grands groupes d’âges, l’âge moyen et l’espérance de vie - ce texte essaie de poser l’hypothèse du vieillissement démographique au Québec. Ce ne sont que quelques réflexions préliminaires à une étude plus fondamentale du problème. De plus, l’exposé démontre la nécessité d’engager la problématique générale du vieillissement autour des fluctuations de la natalité et de déborder Ie cadre strict de la démographie du vieillissement pour souligner l’impact socio-économique d’un tel phénomène. Malgré leur brièveté, ces indices prouvent qu’il n'est pas utopique de penser que le Québec est désormais entraîné dans un processus de vieillissement de sa structure jusqu’à maintenant relativement jeune.
