Abstract
Résumé Cet article porte sur la décision qu’ont prise des femmes et des hommes sur le marché du travail depuis quelques années déjà et ayant des enfants à leur charge, d’effectuer un retour aux études. Plus précisément, nous nous attarderons à mieux documenter l’ensemble des éléments qui ont participé à cette décision en les situant dans une compréhension dynamique de la construction des cheminements scolaire, professionnel, familial et personnel. Nous verrons alors que l’indécision vocationnelle lors des études initiales est un élément important à considérer dans l’interprétation des trajectoires scolaire et professionnelle. Les données proviennent d’une étude qualitative de type empirique basée sur la méthode des récits d’expérience qui a été réalisée de 2002 à 2004 au Québec.
