Volpek, l'agent secret canadien, est le héros d'une série de huit romans d'espionnage destinée à la jeunesse. Série qui contient des stéréotypes relevant du genre (Volpek est le chef du trio des Bons) et doit aussi tenir compte de son public-cible. Mais pourquoi ce nom, Volpek, dont la première lettre semble l'associer au trio des Méchants ? Ainsi commence une... enquête qui veut montrer les diverses symétries/oppositions à l'oeuvre dans la série et identifier les forces en présence. Ce qui ne va pas sans détours inattendus.
