Abstract
Il peutparaître superflu de vouloir ajouter le qualificatif de stratégique à la notion d’investissement. Il est pourtant relativement facile de trouver dans la littérature en sciences de gestion la notion d’investissement stratégique. Sa définition demeure parfois partielle et son processus de décision peu explicité. Cet article propose une méthodologie pour mieux comprendre le processus de décision d’investissement stratégique dans la moyenne industrie. Un modèle global a priori a été défini et une base de données a été constituée à partir d’un échantillon de moyennes entreprises industrielles. Le modèle a priori est testé sur l’échantillon d’entreprises et les résultats suggèrent l’existence d’un processus de décision adaptatif. Selon la nature du problème qui se pose à l’entreprise, la décision d’investissement stratégique peut être guidée par des motivations de nature commerciale, financière ou technologique.
