Abstract
L’article insiste tout particulièrement sur l’implication du clergé et du laïcat dans l’histoire du mouvement des ciné-clubs étudiants au Québec durant les décennies 1950 et 1960. Issus des mouvements d’Action catholique, les ciné-clubs étudiants se sont développés, à l’intérieur de la structure ecclésiale, dans le but de répondre aux problèmes de manque de culture, de préparation déficiente et de sens critique insuffisamment aiguisé en matière de cinéma. L’évolution des ciné-clubs reflète les différentes préoccupations du clergé et du laïcat à l’égard de l’éducation cinématographique au Québec. La présente analyse des rapports entre les clercs et les laïcs, au sein de ces organisations, permet même d’entrevoir le bouillonnement d’idées qui a alors annoncé les profondes transformations qu’allait connaître la société québécoise à partir des années 1960.
