Na ultima decada, a industria de alimentos tem demonstrado interesse ja documentado, na associacao entre barra de cereais e alimentos saudaveis. O mercado consumidor vem apresentando elevado interesse quanto ao produto, chamado “barra de cereal”. Considerando este crescimento e relevância da barra na industria e para consumidor final e que se objetivou, por meio deste trabalho, realizar um mapeamento das pesquisas ja desenvolvidas, analisando as potencialidades e a evolucao das competencias tecnologicas traduzidas atraves dos depositos de patentes no que se refere a Barra de Cereais. A prospeccao foi realizada no Banco Europeu de Patentes, no Banco da Organizacao Mundial de Propriedade Intelectual, no Banco Americano de Marcas e Patentes e no Banco de dados do Instituto Nacional de Propriedade Industrial do Brasil. A classificacao internacional mais abundante nessa prospeccao foi a Subsecao A23 e principalmente na Subclasse A23L, seguido de A61K. Dentre os maiores depositantes estao Estados Unidos, Canada e Republica da Coreia. Os dados demonstram uma area promissora, com crescimento relevante de patentes depositadas.
