Abstract
L’époque entre Thermidor et la Restauration se distingue par le riche travail de divulgation du savoir scientifique, technique et humaniste auquel contribuèrent de manière incisive les Idéologues, proposant une nouvelle approche à n’importe quelle discipline et une ouverture des intérêts d’investigation vers les cultures étrangères. Dans cette perspective, une véritable mission dont le but était la diffusion du savoir parmi un public toujours plus vaste et visant à instaurer des idéaux cénacles culturels entre les différents pays fut confiée à la presse périodique. Pour ses intérêts multiples, pour le regard nouveau sur les cultures étrangères, le Magasin encyclopédique de Millin se situe parmi les revues les plus intéressantes de cette atmosphère culturelle et, plus spécifiquement, est une mine de recherches pour les études visant à la reconstruction des échanges culturels entre France et Italie à une époque où les événements politiques unirent plus que jamais les destinées de ces deux pays.
