Chiral symmetry breaking in three-dimensional quantum electrodynamics in the presence of irrelevant interactions: A renormalization group study
Bibliographic record
Abstract
Motivated by recent theoretical approaches to high temperature superconductivity, we study dynamical mass generation in three-dimensional quantum electrodynamics $({\mathrm{QED}}_{3})$ in the presence of irrelevant four-fermion quartic terms. The problem is reformulated in terms of the renormalization group flows of certain four-fermion couplings and charge, and then studied in the limit of a large number of fermion flavors $N$. We find that the critical number of fermions ${N}_{c}$ below which the mass becomes dynamically generated depends continuously on a weak chiral symmetry breaking interaction. One-loop calculation in our gauge-invariant approach yields ${N}_{c0}=6$ in pure ${\mathrm{QED}}_{3}$. We also find that chiral symmetry preserving mass cannot become dynamically generated in pure ${\mathrm{QED}}_{3}$.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one teacher head, not a consensus.
