Electron path detection by electro-spraying methods

Abstract
The electrospraying technique has been used as a new method for detecting the deflection of charged droplets. Each droplet carries an electrical charge, induced by a high voltage applied to the tip of an electro-spraying needle. To detect droplet path, we have monitored the deposition of the charge carried by each droplet on a bi-electrode. Our sensors are MEMS bi-electrodes fabricated and packaged in a Clean Room and placed in front of a stream of droplets produced by Electro-spraying methods. Applications of this sensor include MEMS-Electro-spraying Gyroscopes, in which the deflection of charged droplets will be used to detect Coriolis force due to rotation.
