Abstract
Les activités entourant la Saint-Jean-Baptiste ont joué un rôle déterminant dans l’affirmation des francophones en Outaouais en leur donnant l’occasion de se rassembler et d’exprimer leur fierté. Cet article propose une étude des cahiers spéciaux publiés par le journal Le Droit lors de cette fête annuelle. Par les éditoriaux, les articles et la publicité, ces cahiers témoignent des représentations symboliques de l’événement et de l’engagement des acteurs sociaux impliqués dans sa réalisation, que ce soit les organisateurs ou les annonceurs. Notre étude met en lumière le rôle de la presse dans la construction et la diffusion des discours entourant la fête nationale.
