Cet article examine différentes interventions pour agir positivement sur le phénomène de la migration des jeunes, interventions proposées par le Partenariat rural canadien, le Conseil permanent de la jeunesse et la stratégie Migraction du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean. Après avoir fait ressortir les forces et les faiblesses de ces interventions, l’auteur propose une grille tridimensionnelle organisée autour des lieux, des temps et des âges de la migration permettant de mieux cibler les actions à entreprendre. Plutôt que de simplement créer de l’emploi pour les jeunes et de leur donner des conditions fiscales avantageuses pour s’établir en dehors des grands centres urbains, il est proposé de travailler sur le développement d’un sentiment d’appartenance, sur le maintien d’un lien avec les jeunes migrants, sur leur insertion professionnelle et résidentielle dans leur milieu d’origine ainsi que sur leur intégration sociale.
