Résumé La victoire politique de 1999 ne règle rien, qui se termine sur des décisions de l’ONU fermant la porte à toute indépendance de la province. L’échec du protectorat à créer un Kosovo multiethnique débouche aujourd’hui sur un piège diplomatique qui menace les Européens, aux vues divergentes, et les habitants du Kosovo. La partition est impossible et l’indépendance ne résoudrait en rien les problèmes internes : le Kosovo est la dernière bombe à retardement de l’après-Yougoslavie.
