Abstract
Le cinéma documentaire chinois et les politiques qui le régissent actuellement n’ont pas profité du vent de libéralisme intellectuel qui soufflait à l’heure des politiques de réforme et d’ouverture. L’analyse quantitative de la production de 1990 nous révèle les priorités du Bureau du cinéma; l’analyse rapide de quelques films nous dévoile les traits caractéristiques du genre documentaire tel que pratiqué par les « fonctionnaires » du cinéma chinois. On s’aperçoit que la réforme et l’ouverture, tout en permettant une diversification des tendances au sein du cinéma de fiction, ont par ailleurs provoqué une consolidation du rôle édificateur du documentaire.
