Abstract
L’enseignement du paysage chez Montaigne se fait avec une vue sur l’avenir et les lointains de la mort. La sincérité, pour Van Gogh, est un comportement par rapport au paysage: dans cette proximité la pensée de « l’au-delà de la tombe » peut se poursuivre, la souffrance se trouve apaisée. Enfin, chez Nietzsche, le paysage est la bonne nouvelle d’un véritablement paisible, éternel au-delà. Le moment d’arrêt bienheureux d’une nature qui se suffit à elle-même, où la pensée a enfin atteint sa pause éternelle. Cet article explore le transfert que ces philosophes-artistes opèrent entre leurs expériences précoces de l’espace et le paysage au sein duquel ils imaginent leur propre mort trouver un jour abri.
