Abstract
Une représentation fréquente semble exister concernant l’existence d’une baisse « automatique » des notes entre la classe de 3eet la classe de 2e. Mais qu’en estil réellement ? Nous avons mené une recherche sur ce point à partir d’un échantillon de 494 élèves. Les résultats montrent qu’il existe effectivement une baisse moyenne importante, de l’ordre de deux points sur notre échantillon, mais celle-ci est variable selon les disciplines scolaires et selon les élèves. L’importance de cette baisse, et sa variabilité, peuvent nous amener à nous interroger sur le degré de cohérence entre les pratiques évaluatives (et pédagogiques) des enseignants de ces deux niveaux scolaires.
