Abstract
In Brief Exposure of a hydroxyapatite orbital implant measuring 10 × 3 mm developed in a 25-year-old man. The exposure was repaired with an amniotic membrane graft. Follow-up examinations at 5 days, 2 weeks, 2.5 months, and 5 months after surgery demonstrated closure of the conjunctival defect. The author concludes that amniotic membrane may be useful for the treatment of hydroxyapatite orbital implant exposures. An exposed hydroxyapatite orbital implant was successfully repaired with amniotic membrane.
