Abstract
Résumé En 1956, à la fin de la guerre d’Indochine, les accords de Genève prévoient le rapatriement en France des citoyens français. Parmi eux, beaucoup de familles eurasiennes : la présence de nombreux militaires et de fonctionnaires célibataires explique les concubinages fréquents, et le nombre important d’enfants métis, généralement non-reconnus. À Sainte-Livrade dans le Lot et Garonne, 1200 personnes rapatriées dont 700 enfants de moins de quatorze ans furent hébergées dans un camp militaire. Il s’agissait principalement de femmes seules avec les enfants eurasiens qu’elles avaient eu d’un concubin français – mais lui-même souvent issu d’autres colonies - du Maghreb, des Antilles, d’Afrique subsaharienne, du Pacifique ou de l’Océan Indien – et de quelques couples, en minorité. Il reste encore aujourd’hui une centaine de ces premiers arrivants dans le camp. Les femmes ont conservé leurs habitudes, alors qu’avec plus ou moins de difficultés, les jeunes générations ont dans l’ensemble réussi leur intégration. Ils continuent cependant de s’interroger sur leur identité métisse, alors que le camp est voué à une disparition prochaine.
