Abstract
Abstract Sanding onset and sand production rate in non-isothermal conditions are of interest both for post-CHOPS and thermally EOR process for production enhancement and sand control purposes. Critical drawdowns by different criteria representing different types of formation and sanding mechanisms are presented based on a fully coupled geomechanics framework under an uniform in-situ stress and non-isothermal condition. Comparisons between a validated isothermal condition and those of heated/cooled formations are performed. Sand production rate after the onset of sand production is also calculated and two different formulations representing sanding zone and displacement changes, respectively, at the wellbore wall for an open hole case is also evaluated.
