Cet article accorde une attention particulière aux travaux français portant sur le journalisme caractérisés — jusqu’il y a peu — par leur fragmentation disciplinaire et institutionnelle. L’objectif est double : contribuer à une meilleure délimitation d’un champ de recherche (les Journalism Studies au sein des SIC) mouvant et complexe, à l’image de la profession dont il est indissociable ; présenter un certain nombre de jalons théoriques et géopolitiques (comparaison avec le contexte nord-américain) témoignant d’un processus en cours de structuration du savoir académique produit.
