Abstract
Les Religieux de Saint-Vincent de Paul débarquent à Québec en1884 pour prendre en charge les patronages de la Société Saint-Vincent dePaul. Ils vont alors développer une structure d’encadrement qui comprendplusieurs types d’associations et qui a comme objectif de former une élite dumilieu populaire. De plus, pour attirer et garder les garçons dans leur oeuvre,les religieux innovent en leur proposant des jeux et des sports dans les patronages.Globalement, ils offrent la possibilité aux jeunes du milieu ouvrier deparfaire leur connaissance religieuse par l’intermédiaire des congrégationsmariales et, par les cercles d’études, la possibilité d’accéder à une formationsociale souvent inaccessible pour eux.
