Abstract
La photographie est à la fois un art et une source d’information. En raison de cette ambivalence, la retouche photographique n’aura pas la même légitimité selon que l’on est un artiste, c’est-à-dire un créateur, ou un reporter, c’est-à-dire un témoin des faits. Le secteur de la publicité profite habilement de l’ambivalence fonctionnelle de la photographie, entre création fictionnelle et trace du réel. L’auteure se demande en quoi consiste exactement cet « enregistrement » du réel par la photographie et, corrélativement, ce que révèle la pratique de la manipulation photographique sur la fonction esthétique de la photographie.
