Abstract
Résumé Dans ses carnets consacrés à la poésie greco-latine, Ferdinand de Saussure nomme anagramme la dissémination par les poètes d’un mot dans l’espace d’un ou de plusieurs vers. Toutefois il note : « Le terme anaphonie serait plus juste. » Les « fragments phoniques » dispersés parfois sur six vers, dans les poèmes latins peuvent s’entendre comme des voix revêtues du nom d’un héros ou d’un dieu par le linguiste. Or, la voix (« figure vocale », « onde sonore ») est exclue de la définition du signe par Saussure. Dès lors, ces carnets ne peuvent-ils apparaître comme la tentative secrète de réinscrire la voix au cœur du signe afin d’en rémunérer l’arbitraire ?
