Abstract
Contre le constructivisme qui tend à nier tout rapport de l’information journalistique à une réalité préexistante, une analyse ontologique en est proposée dans le sillage de la théorie de la construction de la réalité sociale de John R. Searle. Considérant le caractère intentionnel de la nouvelle et prenant appui sur la taxonomie hiérarchique des faits mise de l’avant par Searle, l’auteur définit les principaux faits journalistiques, c’est-à-dire les états de choses sur lesquels porte ou prétend porter l’information journalistique. Ensuite sont identifiés huit types de faits journalistiques bruts, c’est-à-dire la réalité indépendante du journalisme à partir de laquelle les nouvelles sont construites, le plus souvent par itération.
