Abstract
Résumé Notre article examine le glissement progressif, opéré dans Les Fauxmonnayeurs , de l’héroïsation de la bâtardise et de l’aventure, vers une autre conception, plus critique, qui intègre rupture et filiation. Or, par le biais d’un jeu d’équivalence, ce double mouvement de valorisation et de critique de la rupture est reportée sur la figure du romancier, puis sur le roman lui-même, qui se fait roman impur, roman critique, bien plus que « pur roman », comme le conçoit une partie de la critique gidienne. Cette pensée et pratique du roman font de ce genre l’école de la rupture, de la recherche des règles, en même temps qu’un lieu où développer une pensée sur l’homme, sur la genèse des valeurs.
