Résumé Le care domestique, la nature des tâches qu’il implique, la fonction qu’il remplit, sont mal connus, étant le plus souvent présupposés par les politiques publiques et les discours des professionnels engagés dans le domaine des soins. L’article s’interroge sur l’organisation sociale du travail de care dans les familles et l’expérience qu’en ont celles/ceux qui sont amenés à endosser la responsabilité du care domestique. La restitution publique de la voix des pourvoyeurs de care passe par l’écoute des récits de care domestique qui entrent difficilement dans un cadre pré-formaté.
