Abstract
Les dispositifs textuels de Sophie Calle favorisent l’apparition de figures, d’objets de pensée qui, une fois lancés, se déploient et marquent l’imaginaire. Son travail permet même de comprendre certaines de leurs modalités d’apparition. Il favorise une réflexion sur les figures, sur leurs statut et rôle dans les processus symboliques. Il en est ainsi de la figure de l’enfant effacé qui hante l’un des textes de Disparitions (2000). Avant de décrire cette figure, l’auteur commence par identifier quelques-uns des gestes essentiels à sa production, à savoir les gestes d’apercevoir, d’imaginer et de manipuler une forme. Il donne deux courts exemples, tirés de Witold Gombrowicz et de Don DeLillo. Puis, après avoir décrit la figure de l’enfant effacé, présente dans Disparitions, il s’arrête sur le statut particulier des figures, qu’il décrit, à l’instar de Georges Didi-Huberman et à la suite de Walter Benjamin, comme des objets auratiques.
